Dedicated to Chip,
One of a Kind Chestnut Red Horse

Chip was given to dad as a young colt He was several weeks old Dad left him at the farm where he was born and worked with him every day after work. He would let Dad do anything with him.

When he was about five months old he pulled the rope out of dad's hands as dad was working with him and jumped a five foot fence and then he just stood and stared at dad. Dad worked with him more when our little barn was built.Dad and Mary worked with him. She could get on him and slide right off his rear end and Chip would never even move.

Chip would pull tricks on Dad and pull tobacoo out of his rear pocket  and even take dad's hat. One time I looked out my kitchen window and Chip was leaning over the fence and trying to get the Weiner Dog's tail in his mouth. He was Chestnut red horse, and we had a red dog so one time I thought we should name our little mini farm "Red Acre Chip". He lived a long life and was a good horse.

Dad and Mary would ride him maybe Candy did too when we moved from Avalon road to where we live now. Mary rode him over to our house.   Sometimes deer would be in the same horse yard with him and he never cared. Chip's mom was named Starlite and his dad was named Timmy Twilight; I forget excatly his registered name was something similar hence the name Chip off the old Block

We have pictures of most if not all the kids and some grandkids sitting on Chip's back. Pictured above is Bonnie and dad standing next to Chip. Bonnie was about 2 years old.

Dad never found another horse like him. He spent a lot of hours with Chip more than with me!
